Original Backstreet Boys Music Producer to Oversee Heralded Company
ORLANDO, Fla. - Feb. 5, 2016 - CHEIRON MUSIC GROUP®
Orlando, FL - Original Backstreet Boys music producer Tim Coons has been named as the new President of Cheiron Music Group.
Coons' primary job will be to oversee the heralded company's Music, A&R, and Artist Development Departments, as well as to help manage key aspects of the company's two primary record labels, Cheiron Records and Rocket Records. He will also be heavily involved with the launching of the company's new artist development driven record label, Rubicon Records, which is scheduled to occur this upcoming Spring.
Upon being named as President of Cheiron Music Group, Coons had the following to say; "I'm very proud to announce that I have been officially named as the President of Cheiron Music Group. The iconic Cheiron music brand and name speaks for itself, and I'm very excited to hopefully be a big part of many of the company's future successes which I feel are certain to come. Having been blessed with the good fortune to have worked so closely with legendary pop acts such as the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and a few others right here in Orlando, Florida back in the day, who shortly thereafter went on to achieve such incredible commercial success, I saw firsthand exactly what those acts where able to do in the late-90's with all of those amazing and timeless hit Pop records produced by the likes of Max Martin, Herbie Crichlow, the late Denniz PoP, and that entire brilliant music production team at the original Cheiron Studios, which was located over in Sweden. Given my own previous experience with the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC in particular, I think it is fitting that everything has now seemingly come full circle in some ways, and I look forward to helping develop what I hope will turn out to be the next generation of amazing young pop music stars right here in Orlando, where it all started the first time around over 20 years ago now. I'm already very proud that Cheiron achieved a number 1 song on the iTunes New Release charts just this past October with "So I Don't Drown" by the amazingly talented 16-year old Anthony Gargiula, a song which I actually had the honor of producing, so hopefully we can continue that standard of pop music excellence set forth by the original Cheiron crew. This storied music brand and name represents something incredibly unique and special when it comes to making pop music, so I simply couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to be a part of it!"
Coons began his commercial music career as a recording artist in the late-1970's and early-1980's. Signed to BMG Ariola Records at the time, he toured multiple times primarily throughout Europe and appeared on numerous live television programs and events there which had audiences in the millions.
After making the transition from full-time touring recording artist to music producer and songwriter, Coons' signature moment came in 1993 when he helped put together, develop, and produce original music for a new Orlando, Florida based boy band which officially started up that year. The aforementioned boy band was the Backstreet Boys, a group which went on to become one of the highest selling commercial pop music acts throughout all of history and who has received multiple Grammy Award nominations throughout the years.
Being based in Orlando, Florida during the mid-to-late 1990's, Coons found himself directly in the middle of a pop music phenomenen which practically took over the entire world of commercial music before coming to an unofficial end in late 2001. During that time, Coons worked in a variety of capacities with young pop music acts such as NSYNC (Justin Timberlake), Take 5, O-Town, Dream Street (Jesse McCartney), LFO, 3rd Faze, REAL, and others.
Throughout much of 2003, Coons helped develop a young Pop artist named JoJo, who went on to become the youngest female solo recording artist ever with a worldwide number 1 commercial hit song, entitled "Leave (Get Out)", in early 2004.
From 2011 to 2014, Coons served as President of Rocket Records, a record label based in the USA which was actually purchased by (in late 2015) and is now wholly owned and operated by Cheiron Music Group.
In 2014, Coons was named as Vice President of Omicron Media Group, a music and entertainment company based in Orlando, Florida. It was with Omicron where he put together and developed ABTLSTNT, a 4-member International vocal group currently consisting of members Jackson Owens (New Zealand), Eben Franckewitz (USA), Jack Taylor (United Kingdom), and Mikey Bromley (United Kingdom).
In early October 2015, the song "So I Don't Drown" from current Cheiron Records recording artist Anthony Gargiula reached Number 1 on the iTunes New Release Charts. Coons is the song's producer. Gargiula's cover of the Christmas classic "O Holy Night", which featured a full original production done by Coons and was arranged by both he and Gargiula, also made it into the Top 50 of the iTunes New Release Charts in early December 2015, a rarity for most classic Christmas covers.
Coons is the Founder & CEO of Atlantic Hill Music, a music production and artist development company based in Orlando, Florida. The company is the sole owner and operator of the legendary Atlantic Hill Music Studios, which is where various iconic pop music acts such as the Backstreet Boys and JoJo first got their starts recording studio-produced music and developing as artists.
